TIKA & STOVE - CHINESE HONEY LEMON CHICKEN

Dear readers,




Although the picture seems not that yummy but believe me the taste is SUGOI ( amazing in japs ) as what my husband teach me always, especially eaten with the hot steam rice. This Chinese honey lemon chicken was inspired by the youtube channel Marions kitchen but i did some magical touch on her recipe such as using frozen chicken Ayamas brand instead of prep the chicken naturally because too lazy. All her recipes are more on asian styles so its suitable for my Malay tongue taste.

Its very easy and lemon squeezy to make, no need honey at all but if u insist to add, anything is okay!
ok, Lets start!

Ingredients :

  • chicken cut in small size ( i used frozen chicken Ayamas brand )
  • 1 cloves garlic
  • small size of ginger
  • 1 knob of onion
  • 1 lemon juice & zest
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp knor chicken stock mixed with 1 cup of water
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp of corn flour mix with 1/2 cup of water
  • sesame seed
  • spring onion
  • lemon slice

How to make :


  1. Defrost the frozen chicken by putting outside the fridge. After that fry it in hot oil until golden brown then pat dry using tissue.
  2. mix the soy sauce, chicken stock and sugar in a bowl then whisk it.
  3. in a hot pan with a lil bit of oil put the sliced garlic and ginger then pour the sauce. let it cook for a while.
  4. Then add the corn flour and whisk it until it becoming sticky gravy.
  5. add the lemon juice and zest, mix well. then add the sliced onion. 
  6. The important part : TASTE IT BY YOUR OWN TONGUE. if you feel less sweet add more sugar, if less salt add more soy sauce. believe in your own tongue because you are the one who gonna eat it so make it as you want it to be.
  7.  put the chicken inside the gravy and stir well until every chicken are coated, then put in a plate.
  8. Finally, sprinkle sesame seed, spring onion and lemon slice as decoration. Additional, put a lil bit honey on top.
  9. DONE!
The taste of it is really refreshing and tangy feeling because of the lemon burst. Its easy, quick and less messy recipe plus stomach filling food which must be try on.
