بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
Dear readers,
The yellow banana king colour brighten our wedding day on 8th September 2018. its a really super memorable day for both of us and families. we want to thanks to all the guest who spent times to attend our mix culture marriage. we are so honoured to have each one all of you.the wedding ceremony was so warm and family feelings when we can see each faces that we know came and celebrate us. everything was too fast. i still remember we late half an hour to enter the hall supposedly at 1 but we came at 1.30 its really such a chaos! everybody were waiting and we come like banana smiling and laughing like nothing happened. what a memory.
we did it as Johor malay culture wedding as possible. where there are kompang, tol, zapin, silat, tabur duit syiling, makan beradab and tepung tawar. both of our family enjoying the moment of culture exchange.
THE PREP
I still remember the moment during the prep its super super not prepared! when we wake up on the marriage day, its around 10.30 am in the hotel. just imagined we woke up on our ceremony day at 10! and my phone battery totally out as usual. when i quickly shower and went down with my husband to take the wedding cloth, we saw a woman with big box at the lobby and she shout my name. she is actually the replacement make up artist that i booked. my make up artist that day had diarrhoea and she replaced another mua for me. i'm super surprised! so i told her to wait at the hotel room and we quickly went back house to take our wedding cloth and everything else and rush back to hotel for make up. we also met all my husband family already waited at the lobby ready to go to the ceremony and we are still in our pyjama! they are Japanese so they really punctual. we are super in RUSH!
when we arrived home, my parents already gone and my brothers and most of my cousin had diarrhoea , stomach pain and fever! its such a disaster hahah! my brother and cousin supposed to fetch my husband's family but they couldn't. so we quickly took all of our things and went back to the hotel. My husband told me to get ready upstairs and he and my another cousin drove the van and sent his family and friends to the wedding hall. he need to go and back to the hotel to pick up all his family for three trip!
while im getting ready, the cameraman from @karma came and shoot us during our prep. my bridesmaids stay with me all the time during the prep and another two are at the wedding hall already. thanks to @makeupbyeqin she helped to replace my mua and change me to be a beautiful princess that day! i rent this yellow songket and accessories at @sequinsbridal.
THIRD DRESS : THE YELLOW SONGKET
ITS STARTED
1) BERARAK
during this time, as tradition of johor, the groom and families will be entering the wedding hall without the bride. there will be the sound of kompang play by few boys and men hitting the instrument made by cow leather and they will sing songs, sirih junjung girls escorting the groom to announce that the groom is coming to the bride's families and the groom need to walk in between the guys who will protect him by the fancy umbrella from the sun. so much like king Tasuku :p
2) SILAT
before entering the wedding hall or house of the bride, the groom need to sit on a chair and there will be silat performance which is a traditional malay martial arts. the silat performance is being done by my cousin's husband. this shows how malay really hold high their tradition and its also a symbol of welcoming.
3) TOL
for this tol its means like the obstacle that the groom need to face to get the bride. and the tol are only from bride families, they will use the cloth called kain batik to make the obstacle and they will stand behind it. if they satisfied with the money given by the groom they will let the groom and families pass through the obstacle to get his bride. there will be either 2 layer or 3 layer tol. the groom best man need to prepare money and put inside the envelop. they will put some RM 1 inside in each envelop. for my wedding, the first layer are from my aunts and uncles. my husband best man is Kirara which is my husband lil brother is the one who gave all the money. the second layer are from my little cousins. everybody are enjoying!
4) GET YOUR BRIDE
behind the tol, the bride will sit down with her aunt or sister and wait for the groom to get her. the other person need to cover the bride face with fan but the fan was gone so my aunt just used her hand. its super funny! this time, my gold belt suddenly break off when i want to sit down and cannot repair so i just take it off. too fat tikachan. after pass all the obstacle the groom can sit next to the bride!
5) THROW THE COINS!
after that, the bride and groom will walk to the stage and one of my aunt will took a bucket of coins mix with candies and toss it in the air, the kids will quickly take it on the floor and keep it. unfortunately i don't have proper picture of it. its a symbol of prosperity for the bride and groom future life.
6) ZAPIN DANCE
after the bride and groom already sit on the stage, the dancer start to dance our traditional Johor dance on the stage.
7) TEPUNG TAWAR
for this time, the families, friends and relative will come up the stage and meet the bride and groom to give blessings. they need to take the rice , flowers and rose water then sprinkle to the bride and groom.
LOTS OF LOVE,
